Special Announcements:
- Koinonia Dinner: Each month we have a fellowship dinner following
the 11:00 a.m. worship. In February the dinner will be on the 28th.
- Shrove Tuesday: The day before Ash Wednesday we'll be having our annual Pancake Supper. Please join us February 16th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
- Ash Wednesday: We'll mark the beginning of Lent on February 17th with a Vesper service with ashes at 8 p.m. Before the service, we'll have a soup, salad and dessert dinner at 6 p.m., followed by adult study class and adult choir practice at 7.
- Wednesday Nite Live: For six weeks we prepare for Easter with Lenten soup suppers every Wednesday--Feb. 17th through March 24th. The schedule is the same as Ash Wednesday: supper at 6, class or rehearsal at 7, short Vesper prayer service at 8. Plan to join the fellowship and good food.
- Easter Cantata: If you would like to join the choir just for the cantata, we will be practicing those pieces from 7:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays. We can always use more voices!
- New Prayer Group: We meet in the chapel off of the Sanctuary from approximately 12 p.m. to 12:15 p.m. We have a short devotional and then pray for the needs of our church, community, nation, and world. Please join us at any time, or send us a prayer request through the church office.
- New Testament Bibles: Pastor Dan has challenged the church membership to read the New Testament in 2010! To make it easier, you can buy a New Testament in the Narthex, which if you read a page a day, will take you through the entire New Testament plus Psalms and Proverbs. Each bible is $5, a discount off of the cover price. There is also a book available "United Methodist Questions, United Methodist Answers" that contains a lot of information about the church and our beliefs, also $15.
- Food Pantry: The Outreach Committee has set a goal to provide
3000 pounds of food to the area food pantry for 2010. The food is
taken to the pantry after the first Sunday of each month, but you can bring food
items any time that is convenient.
- Prayer Garden: It's not too late to purchase an engraved paving stone. Please contact the church office for more information.
- FoodNet: St. Luke is no longer a distribution site for FoodNet. It has moved to the Center for People in Need on N. 27th Street (formerly Rod Kush's furniture on the west side of the street). It is still on Wednesdays but at 2:30 p.m.
