Special Announcements:
- Building Project: Construction is continuing! The East entrance is no longer accessible. In fact, the stairs are completely gone. You can still enter the North doors, or use the South doors and go through the Family Learning Center. Lots of exciting events are coming up soon. Click here for updated information...
- Koinonia Dinner: Each month we have a fellowship dinner following
the 11:00 a.m. worship. In June the dinner will be on the 21st as part of Father's Day (see below).
- Father's Day Car Show: Our annual celebration of Dads will be held on June 21st. Not only will there be cool cars to check out and vote on, but there will be a cookout as well! If you have or know of someone with a show-worthy car (or motorcycle) please contact the church for registration information. There is no registration fee, and entrants receive 1 free lunch. Registration for vehicles is from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., judging will be from 10 a.m. to noon, and lunch is served beginning at 11:30.
- Vacation Bible School--Studio GO! The dates for VBS are set, so please mark your calendars! The dates are June 28-30, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Please register your children as soon as possible so we can plan. Friends and neighbors are also welcome!
- Summer Sunday School: Sunday School will continue through June and July. We need teachers! You can volunteer for 1 or all 8 Sundays. The lessons are already planned, so all you need to do is show up. Contact Nancy McMeen for details.
- Summer Music: The choirs take a break in the summer, so now is your chance to shine! You can even bring a meaningful poem or song on CD if you are not interested in performing. Please sign up on the clipboard in the Narthex.
- One Year Bibles: Pastor Dan has challenged the church membership to read the entire bible in 2009! To make it easier, you can buy a 'One Year Bible' which breaks the readings into 15-20 minutes a day. Each bible is $15, a discount off of the cover price. There is also a book available "United Methodist Questions, United Methodist Answers" that contains a lot of information about the church and our beliefs.
- Food Pantry: The Outreach Committee has set a goal to provide
3000 pounds of food to the area food pantry for 2009. The food is
taken to the pantry after the first Sunday of each month, but you can bring food
items any time that is convenient.
- Prayer Garden: It's not too late to purchase an engraved paving stone. Please contact the church office for more information.
- FoodNet: St. Luke is no longer a distribution site for FoodNet. It has moved to the Center for People in Need on N. 27th Street (formerly Rod Kush's furniture on the west side of the street). It is still on Wednesdays but at 2:30 p.m.
