Construction Updates

It's so exciting to see actual progress being made! This page will attempt to keep everyone up-to-date about what is happening, with the newest information at the top. We'll tell the story in pictures as much as possible, so to make this page load faster, the pictures will be little "thumbnails." Click on a picture to see an enlarged version. Please Note the following important messages:

• The East Entrance has now been closed! You may still enter the Narthex from the North doors. You can also reach the sanctuary by entering the South doors and using the stairs in the Family Learning Center. There may be a Sunday or two where we have to worship in the Fellowship Hall because the North doors may be blocked by construction in the Narthex (fire safety codes require that we have two exits available).
• During construction, several parking spaces have been blocked. Remember that parking in the street is permissible on Sundays. We ask that parking spaces closest to the church be reserved for our seniors and others with mobility issues.
• Also, we know that any construction project is a magnet for kids, so parents please supervise your children to keep them from harm!

12/1/08:

The church offices have been moved downstairs. The newly remodeled spaces look fabulous!

11/12/08:

This week the construction company started in earnest. The hole for the foundation was started, the parking lot was dug up where it will need to be regraded for the covered walkway, and the window in the kitchen was removed. There is also a large trailer in the parking lot which provides office space and storage for the construction company.

10/13/08:

The new offices for the pastor and secretary were started in the basement. They will be in the rooms where the Serendipity group used to meet, and where the coat racks used to be. This remodeling is being done by volunteers in the church. . .a big thank you for all your hard work!

Contact the church office to find out the members of these committees. All committee meetings are open to the congregation; the office can inform you when the next meetings are going to be held. In addition, committee members will wear badges during church services so that you know who to talk to if you have questions.
