Building Project: Construction has begun! The East entrance is no longer accessible. You can still enter the North doors, or use the South doors and go through the Family Learning Center. Lots of exciting events are coming up soon. Click here for updated information...
Community Thanksgiving Service: St. Luke joins with several other churches in the neighborhood for an annual Thanksgiving Eve service. This year, the service will be held on Wednesday, November 26th at 7 p.m., at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1201 Benton St. Note: The church office will be closed on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 27th and 28th.
Hanging of the Greens: It's already time to think about the holidays! Join us for a fun day of getting church prepared on Saturday, November 29th. At 4 p.m., the children will make decorations for trees in the Fellowship Hall, while the youth and adults decorate the Sanctuary. At 6:30 we will have a meal (please bring a dessert or salad), followed by a Christmas Carol Sing.
Annual Church Conference: Please join us in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, November 30th right after the 11 a.m. service.
Sunday School: We are still looking for several Kindergarten teachers and additional substitute teachers. Contact Nancy McMeen if you can help. We're also looking for a choir leader for the Cherubs. Contact Becky Showalter to find out more.
Koinonia Dinner: Each month we have a fellowship dinner following
the 11 a.m. worship. The November dinner will be held on the 16th, as part of our church-wide celebration of Commitment Sunday.
One Year Bibles: Pastor Dan has challenged the church membership to read the entire bible in 2008! To make it easier, you can buy a 'One Year Bible' which breaks the readings into 15-20 minutes a day. Each bible is $15, a discount off of the cover price.
Food Pantry: The Outreach Committee has set a goal to provide
3000 pounds of food to the area food pantry for 2008. The food is
taken to the pantry after the first Sunday of each month, but you can bring food
items any time that is convenient.
Prayer Garden: The garden is in full bloom, so please check it out! It's not too late to purchase an engraved paving stone. Please contact the church office for more information.
FoodNet: St. Luke is no longer a distribution site for FoodNet. It has moved to the Center for People in Need on N. 27th Street (formerly Rod Kush's furniture on the west side of the street). It is still on Wednesdays but at 2:30 p.m. |
